It’s time to Spring2ACTion!
During these challenging times, you can help ensure that local nonprofit and charitable organizations in Alexandria, Virginia continue their important work by participating in ACT for Alexandria’s Spring2ACTion, a community-wide day of giving, on April 15.
Spring2ACTion is a 24-hour online fundraising event that connects donors with the local nonprofits and charitable causes they care about most–and encourages them to take action. Since 2011, Spring2ACTion has been a time where Alexandrians come together to support the organizations that serve our community in the best and most challenging of times. This year, your help is needed more than ever. Due to the COVID-19 crisis, many organizations have put aside fundraising events and revenue-generating programs to deal with the increased need for programs and services.
Your generous donation can help participating Alexandria nonprofits that provide services such as food, shelter, animal rescue, tutoring, and support of the arts, or you can enter one or more specific organizations. The list includes programs associated with City departments, such as the Alexandria Library Foundation, Alexandria Police Foundation, Alexandria Police Youth Camp, Center for Alexandria’s Children, Friends of the Alexandria Mental Health Center, Fund for Alexandria’s Child, Historic Alexandria’s Freedom House Museum initiative, the Space of Her Own (SOHO) mentoring program, and the Vola Lawson Breast Cancer Fund.
