Volunteer at First Night Alexandria This Year!

Volunteer at First Night Alexandria on New Year's Eve in Alexandria, Virginia

On New Year’s Eve, local shops, restaurants, historic sites and buildings throughout Old Town Alexandria turn into performance venues to showcase local talent and celebrate the New Year at First Night Alexandria. It’s fun, affordable, safe and family friendly.

First Night Alexandria has twenty-six performance venues, as well as the Fun Hunt and children’s activities in the afternoon. All these locations need volunteers. They also need help from those who are familiar with iPads (or equivalent tablets) to help us manage our admission badge sales. New Year’s Eve volunteers generally serve in pairs and there are five three-hour shifts throughout the day.

All our volunteers receive free admission, a box dinner, and a First Night apron they can keep. There is plenty of time to enjoy performances and see the fabulous finale at midnight—fireworks on the Potomac!
