The Carlyle Community Council (CCC) will again host an official Pit Stop for Bike to Work Day set for May 17, 2013 at John Carlyle Square Park. In 2012, close to 200 bikers registered for Carlyle’s first ever Pit Stop. The CCC is seeking volunteers, sponsors and exhibitors for this year. Across the region, more than 12,000 area commuters register for one of more than fifty pit stops to show their support for bicycling as a clean, fun and healthy way to get to work. The Carlyle Pit Stop is a unique way to showcase the Carlyle Community as a livable and bikeable destination.
Commuter Connections and the Washington Area Bicyclist Association are the regional sponsors. Bicyclists who pre-register for a pit stop receive a free T-shirt, refreshments, and a chance to win bike gear, and other great raffle prizes donated by our sponsors. For questions about becoming a volunteer, sponsor, or exhibitor, contact Lee Hernly our CCC representative via our resident website.
